Sean Sullivan graduated high school in Bainbridge NY and went on to graduate from Century College in White Bear Lake Minnesota in 1993. Sean completed his clinical requirements at The Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul helping children with varying deformities. He has worked in various states including Minnesota, New York and Tennessee as technician and fitter, gaining experience in the fabrication and fitting of state of the art prosthetic and orthotic devices. He has worked closely in the design and construction of myoelectric upper extremity as well as ultralight lower extremity prosthetics. While working in Tennessee he was instrumental in the early stages of research and development of total containment flexible dynamic lower extremity orthoses. This design later became a standard of practice for many orthotic treatment protocols.
In 2011 Sean passed his board exams to become a board certified orthotist. Shortly after passing his orthotic boards he became a Certified Prosthetic Assistant. He began working with Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2002 in our Kingston office and after a brief leave from the company to further his educational background he returned and currently sees patients in Hudson, Kingston, and Poughkeepsie.
Sean also uses his personal experience as a cancer survivor and above knee amputee to enhance the lives of his patients. Taking great pride in his ability to overcome such diversity, Sean counsels individuals with recent amputations and those facing the possibility of amputation. His perspective is from a very active lifestyle where he enjoys cycling, hiking, skiing, hunting, and fishing. He takes an energetic role in the lives of his three active children.
